Trying to make ✨niche✨ happen!

That’s So Niche is fun, welcoming small shop lovingly run by a graphic designer with way too many interests and — occasionally — with help from her merry crew of fellow #girl bosses.

I'm Laurel! I'm your resident designer, boss lady and creative brain behind this little project. I experienced a lot of big life changes in 2023 — from having to move from Texas (my home of 30 years) to California with my parents, to losing my decade-long graphic design job. Real talk, friends? It’s been a ride! 

Through all this though, I’ve found the motivation to go ahead and make things happen for myself! I realized there were things I loved that I couldn’t find cool merch for and thought: “Hey! Maybe I can just do it myself!” So, I decided that I could channel my passion for pop culture and design into making cool clothing and accessories that I can share with you all!

The mission here is to bring a bit of joy and lean into all the silly, goofy things we love. The things that spark joy! We're here to treat ourselves (and our inner child) because life's just too darn short! Let's celebrate all of the niche interests and fandoms that maybe don’t get the love they deserve and get ourselves a little something fun to make our OOTD's that much cooler.

We also believe in personally shopping our values, so — as a shop — want to always be vocal and clear on where we stand morally (as fellow humans)! The gals at That’s So Niche are staunchly pro-liberation across the board.

For all people whether they be: workers, disabled, fat, Black, Indigenous, Muslim, Jewish, Palestinian, AANHPI, Latinx, LGBTQIA+ (I’m a member!) — and all intersections. This may be a silly shop, and ✨call us radical✨ but we want to be clear in our intention to be an inclusive and welcoming place FOR ALL ✌️!

Basically, we rock for freeing oppressed people around the world. Protection of trans & other LGBTQ youth and adults. Protecting the Earth. Abortion access. Housing, healthcare and livable wages for all. Collective liberation, baby. 💗💕😚
